The Argan tree is a rare species found almost exclusively in south-west Morocco, for centuries the Berber people of the region harvested its fruit for food and to extract it’s precious oil, a laborious process of cracking and grinding roasted argan nuts that could take twenty hours to produce a single litre. Modern Argan Oils produced solely for cosmetics are manufactured through a cold-press method that preserves the rich nutrients.
The Berber discovered many benefits to Argan Oil and applied it to their skin, to protect them from the harsh mountain wilderness.
Argan oil contains a high concentration of essential fatty acids and vitamin E, two key parts of the skin’s lubricating layer, these components help the skin stay hydrated and prevent moisture loss.
